Disconnecting shocks, brake rods, spring U-bolts and clam shell.
Two different techniques for removing the drive shaft from the differential (banjo).
How a special fixture can make the job of supporting the drive train easier.
Removing pinion gear and resetting the pre-load.
Reassembly with overdrive components.
Safety wire the drive shaft to the differential (banjo).
Reinstalling the drive train and mating it to the transmission.

There are three primary manufacturers of overdrive units for the Model A Ford...Volvo, Borg Warner and Mitchell Manufacturing (gear splitter). This video shows installation of a Mitchell unit, but the process will be the same for any of the models. Some require electrical connections while the Mitchell only requires a mechanical shifter. You will need to follow the manufacturer's instructions. This video should give you help in understanding how to remove and reinstall the drive train safely. Running Time: 31 minutes.
